UNESCO: “algorithmic transparency” is crucial for online freedoms

Sulla lista NEXA, Norbero Patrignani, già dirigente Olivetti e da molti anni pioniere della Computer Ethics in Italia, segnala che Wednesday, 2 December during a Knowledge Café event organized by UNESCO’s Communication and Information Sector at the Organization’s Headquarters in Paris American privacy law expert Marc Rotenberg argued  that

“At the intersection of law and technology – knowledge of the algorithm is a fundamental right, a human right,”

e aggiunge un commento che condivido al 100%: "come diceva Lessig: "code is law" (Lessig L., "Code and other laws of cyberspace", Basic Book, 1999) se il codice incorpora la norma allora il codice deve essere trasparente ..

Un'ulteriore freccia all'arco del software open source (dovrebbero ricordaseloi amministrazioni che per votare scelgono piattaforme proprietarie)  da tenere presente anche per ricordare che i codici della democrazia oggi sono nel codice del software.
